Industrial Visit to Rail Coach Factory,Kapurthala
Chandigarh Polytechnic organized an industrial visit at RCF Kapurthala on 21st September for ME, AME and EE students. The visit was organized with the aim of giving students a live knowledge about the manufacturing of rail coaches and the latest machinery and equipment related to them.
RCF established in 1986, is a coach manufacturing unit of Indian Railways. After turning out its first coach in March 1988, RCF has moved on to become the largest and most modern coach manufacturing unit of Indian Railways. RCF is equipped with a state-of-the–art CAD centre and CNC machines to undertake design and manufacture of bogies, shells (both with stainless steel and corten steel).
The students got the necessary exposure and learned some new concepts and gained a good experience.
