Industrial visit at Punjab Energy Development Agency, Chandigarh

Students of Civil Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering, as a part of curriculum, were taken for an industrial visit to Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), Solar Passive complex in Sector 33D Chandigarh. Around 60 students from both the branches went for Visit

PEDA- Solar Passive Complex, Chandigarh is a unique and successful model of Energy Efficient Solar Building, designed on Solar Passive Architecture with the partial support of Ministry of New & renewable Energy, Govt. of India and Department of New & renewable energy (NRE), Govt. Of Punjab. Building is Rated as 5 star by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) on the basis of Energy Performance Index (EPI).

The students were quite influenced and astonished on visiting such a place. The demonstration of the solar passive architecture concepts, light vaults, wind tower coupled with solar chimney and learning use of solar device /equipment was quite beneficial for students.
